Maintenance III Job Description

This is an 8 hour/day, 12 month position under the Classified Bargaining Unit. The start date is as soon as possible.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, oversees the care and upkeep of roofing systems in the district; performs a variety of tasks in the care and maintenance of roofs, gutters, flashings, skylights and related equipment, and performs related work as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs all duties related to the roofing trade; assumes responsibility for the overall quality of roofing throughout the district, inspect and repair roofing systems, including the supervision of temporary employees;
  • Advises the Facilities Manager regarding issues concerning roofs and building envelope;
  • Cares for and maintains assigned equipment and motor vehicles as required;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, minor electrical and plumbing, minor HVAC calls, doors and related hardware, carpentry, and painting;
  • Use and navigate computer technology and other relevant computer software programs as required;
  • Routinely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance;
  • Complete all district required trainings.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid Oregon Operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles;
  • Minimum of three years experience in the roofing trade;
  • Completion of certified apprenticeship preferred;
  • High school diploma or equivalent as required by Oregon Administrative Rules, Oregon Department of Education.
