Chicago Meat Authority is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Standup Forklift Driver to join our team at our meat processing facility. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for safely operating a standup forklift to move pallets and products throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a standup forklift to move pallets and products in a cold environment, including the freezer room, cooler room, dry storage room, production room, and shipping docks.
- Verify product accuracy by matching bill of lading (BOL) to product received.
- Read fill rates and identify correct product using the fresh meat report.
- Use an RF scanner to scan product and fill out verification documents for shipping and handling.
- Reconcile written paperwork with generated labels to ensure accuracy and balance.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations.
- One year of recent standup forklift experience.
- Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to think ahead.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and push up to 80 pounds, depending on the specific function being performed.
- Ability to work in a cold, humid environment and wear personal protective equipment.
- Meat processing and/or refrigerated manufacturing experience preferred.
- Dependability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
