Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $92,600 - $139,000 per year. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
Job Description
This Principal DevOps Software Engineer position will be located in Melbourne, Florida, operating on our 9/80 schedule, which means you will get every other Friday off. The position has some hybrid work available. As a member of our Core Mission System Software (CMSS) team, you will develop and maintain customized or standardized containers for Open Mission Systems applications using software engineering best practices and standards. You will also develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who can develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Expertise in Jenkins, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and related DevOps technologies is required. A Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited University with 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited University with 3 years of relevant experience is necessary. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access is also required. Demonstrated proficiency in Object-Oriented (OO) programming in C++, Python, or Java is preferred. Experience building, testing, maintaining, and releasing OCI-compliant containers is also beneficial. Familiarity with OMS services and creation of OMS services with use of containers, experience creating configurations for container deployments, networks, and services on k8s, and experience configuring k8s CNIs and distributed storage are also desirable.
