Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled Physician Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Department. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care services to our patients, working collaboratively with staff to deliver comprehensive services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct face-to-face psychiatric evaluations to determine diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
- Provide ongoing medication review services to assess the effects of prescribed medication and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with Behavioral Health clinical staff and Sea Mar medical clinic providers to review cases and provide recommendations on diagnosis, medications, and treatment considerations.
- Offer phone consultation services to Sea Mar physicians to support the prescription of initial medications and facilitate further evaluation of mental health service needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed chart documentation, including written notes of psychiatric evaluations, medication reviews, and client contacts.
- Provide professional supervision to assigned staff and other paraprofessionals.
- Work closely with administrative personnel, including Medical and Behavioral Directors, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Communicate effectively with clients, using clear and concise language to ensure understanding.
- Train staff on customer service principles and promote a culture of empathy and respect.
- MD or DO degree.
- Completion of an approved Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) three-year residency training program in Psychiatry.
- Washington State License to practice as a Psychiatrist.
- Three or more years of experience providing psychiatric services.
- Familiarity with Washington mental health law as it pertains to involuntary treatment.
- Must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient-related information.
- Must undergo a background check from DSHS and Washington State Patrol.
- Must comply with all ethical standards of Sea Mar and those required by DOH (Washington State Department of Health).
- Must have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three years immediately prior to the date of employment at the facility, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at Sea Mar Community Health Center.
