Key Responsibilities- Traffic Design and Analysis: Perform traffic analysis and design for various projects, including highway engineering and transportation-related initiatives.
- Design Alternatives: Investigate and evaluate design alternatives to minimize costs and socio-economic impacts.
- Traffic Signal Design: Design and analyze traffic signal systems, including striping, signing, and utility coordination.
- Traffic Simulation and Analysis: Utilize software such as VISSIM and Synchro/SimTraffic to simulate and analyze traffic flow, and HCS for operational analysis.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate traffic elements of larger transportation projects with other disciplines.
- Studies and Designs: Perform and/or oversee Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs.
- Transportation Planning: Conduct transportation engineering and traffic planning studies.
- Impact Studies: Perform and review traffic impact studies and analysis reports.
- Multimodal Studies: Conduct multimodal studies, including pedestrian and bicycle studies.
- Education: Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university/program.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CADD software platforms, including Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Autoturn.
- Professional Certifications: Possess FE/EIT and familiarity with Traffic software platforms, including VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS software.
- Experience: Experience related to traffic safety, crash data analysis, and development of crash countermeasures.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License: Possession of a PE license.
- Design Experience: Plan production via Microstation, with design experience.
