As a leading aerospace company, we are seeking a skilled Associate Composite Fabrication Specialist to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Job Summary

This is a variable shift position that requires the ability to work in a manufacturing assembly environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing daily assigned work by interpreting drawings and reading/comprehending work instructions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Experience with conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic and hand tools
  • CNC experience
  • Ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications
  • Use of a computer in a production environment
  • Looking up/read/comprehending technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
  • Appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task
  • Operating mechanical lifts of various types
  • Inspecting work quality and checking for FOD (Foreign Object Debris)
  • Climbing/balancing, crawling, crouching, working around energized sources and exposure to constant noise
  • Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6 months+ experience with manufacturing, fabrication and/or aviation
  • 6 months+ experience/proficiency with typical hand tools
  • Use of high impact vibratory tools
  • 6 months+ of experience with pneumatic/hydraulic equipment
  • 6 months+ of experience/ability to perform computer searches to look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
  • 6 months+ of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are desired:

  • 1 year of experience with conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic and hand tools
  • 1 year of CNC experience
  • 1 year of crane operations experience
  • 1 year of experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams in aviation
Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
