This position performs ultrasound procedures to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for exams, explains procedures, positions patients, selects imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of images.
- Enters and monitors patient quality assurance on ultrasound equipment.
- May assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other certifications.
- Reports accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
- Supports department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology.
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
- Registered Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S) or other relevant certifications.
Additional Information:
This role requires the ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
