Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Good Samaritan Society in Socorro, NM. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including baked goods, soups, and entrees, following standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines.
• Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met at all times.
• Operate kitchen equipment, such as mixers, slicers, and ovens, to prepare and cook food.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to safety and sanitation protocols.
• Work effectively with internal customers, including patients, residents, staff, and visitors, to provide excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and prepare meals, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and culinary techniques.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months of applicable experience in food preparation and service.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic math skills to accurately measure ingredients and portion food.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds.
