Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Hilo Medical Center. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS certification is preferred.
  • PALS certification is preferred.
  • NIHSS certification is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
  • Travelers without an active State of HI license must obtain one upon acceptance of the offer.
  • Work in a Progressive Care Unit consisting of 15 beds.
  • Provide care in a 3-step down ICU and 12 telemetry beds.
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU.
  • Key duties include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip interpretation, and fingerstick blood sugar testing.
  • Utilize equipment such as Meditech for charting, Pyxis for medication management, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience within the last year.
  • Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry is preferred.
Schedule Information
  • Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the initial orientation period.
  • No guarantee of hours is provided.
  • No on-call duties required.
Unit Specific Information
  • Floating to other units or departments is required, including all acute care units within the facility.
  • Potential rotations in Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and ER.
