Position Overview:


Under the guidance of the Medical Clinic Director, you will play a vital role in the Medical Clinic, adhering to the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) care model.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality, comprehensive medical services to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan and other eligible individuals at the Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center.

All staff members are required to comply with mandated reporting regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare.
  • Conduct patient interviews and examinations; review medical histories; and order or perform necessary diagnostic tests and evaluations.
  • Order and/or conduct screening and diagnostic procedures, interpreting results to identify early signs of serious physical, emotional, or mental health issues.
  • Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday telephone support for clinic patients.
  • Make regular visits to community care facilities and conduct home visits as scheduled.
  • Ensure the control of communicable diseases within the tribal community through screening, treatment, education, follow-up, reporting, and documentation.
  • Assist in stabilizing patients during emergencies, including performing life-saving procedures and crisis intervention in preparation for hospital transport.
  • Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
  • Participate in assigned meetings and collaborate with staff to plan, coordinate, and implement specialized programs and clinics.
  • Prescribe and review medications, adjusting dosages as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation in the Electronic Health Record system.
