Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist SLP to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct patient care to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer diagnostic tests and develop individualized treatment plans for adults and children with various communication disorders, voice impairments, and neurological defects.
  • Collaborate with physicians to recommend and implement appropriate treatments, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams as a consultant and clinical expert in specialized areas such as pediatric speech, traumatic brain injury, and more.
  • Train and supervise CFY candidates, ensuring they meet the highest standards of care.
  • Develop and present in-service programs on speech and language therapy topics, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
  • Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations, interpreting and reporting results to referring physicians and medical staff.
  • Develop and implement therapy programs addressing speech, language, voice, and swallowing problems for diverse patient populations.
  • Document patient progress, maintaining accurate records and adjusting treatment plans to improve effectiveness.
  • Meet client needs, determining further courses of treatment or intervention as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • One year of clinical experience in dysphasia management and speech pathology.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of speech therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
