Job Summary

As a Radiation Therapist at Carle Health, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients. You will assist physicians in delivering prescribed doses of ionizing radiation to patients using specialized equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and effective treatment of patients, and you will be responsible for preparing treatment rooms, explaining procedures to patients, and administering treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT simulations independently and accurately.
  • Deliver daily treatments and operate radiation therapy machines using the highest safety standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation on the electronic medical record (ARIA).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and recommend solutions to improve processes.
  • Accept responsibility for working on-call hours and follow the written on-call policy.
Requirements
  • Complete a formal training program from a radiation therapy program approved by the Council on Education of the American Medical Association.
  • Must be ARRT Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Preferred: Have a bachelor's degree in radiation therapy from a 4-year college or university.
