Boston Area Gleaners Inc is a regional food systems organization working at the intersection of farming, food waste, and hunger relief.
We focus on meeting the immediate needs of families who lack access to affordable, healthy food while also addressing the systemic causes of food insecurity.
The organization also owns and operates Stonefield Farm in Acton, Massachusetts.
The Grant Writer is responsible for supporting the Grants Team by writing grants, writing grant reports, attending meetings and providing project management support to the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Grant Writing and Reporting
- Serves as a member of the Grants Team and effectively supports efforts to reach annual revenue goals by
- Writing grants for foundation and government funders
- Generating reports for foundation funders
- Coordinating the writing of proposals, supporting documents, and other correspondence
- Understanding budgets and financial statements and effectively sharing with funders
- Contributing to overall storytelling strategy for the organization
Additional Responsibilities
- Manages and tracks all grant submission and reporting requirements to meet deadlines
- Works collaboratively with senior staff and program directors to receive updated data and programmatic information
Requirements
- Writing for multiple audiences
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
- Clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 2+ years of non-profit grant writing experience
- Grant reporting experience
- Demonstrated interest in food systems, food access, and/or farming
- Evidence of success in reaching annual fundraising goals
- Experience with grants research databases a plus
- Government grants experience is a plus
