Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior IT Project Coordinator to oversee a significant technology initiative. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing large-scale IT projects, ensuring successful delivery within established parameters.


Key Responsibilities
  • Define and clarify roles and responsibilities, fostering active participation from all stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage project tasks to ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Gather and consolidate requirements from diverse user groups into a comprehensive requirements document.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, securing necessary approvals and tracking changes in scope.
  • Communicate project developments and changes to stakeholders and upper management.
  • Establish project objectives and devise strategies to achieve them.
  • Coordinate resources, both internal and external, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee multiple related projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, ensuring thorough documentation of progress and outcomes.
  • Provide timely updates reflecting project status, challenges, and risks.
  • Identify potential risks and collaborate with the project team to mitigate concerns.
  • Consult with the project team on all facets of project management, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an IT Project Coordinator.
  • Extensive experience with both agile and waterfall project management methodologies (minimum 7 years).
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience with the RFP process (minimum 5 years).
  • Proficiency in Planview Enterprise 1 or similar portfolio and project management tools (minimum 7 years).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other Agile project management tools (minimum 7 years).
  • Certification as a Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems is highly desirable (minimum 5 years).
  • Prior experience as a Project Coordinator within a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency is preferred (minimum 5 years).
