Respiratory Therapist PRN Seasonal Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a PRN seasonal basis at Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Certificate.
All seasonal employees are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Three (3) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period. During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
