About the Role:

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team in Pediatrics. As a Speech Pathologist, you will evaluate patients and apply various therapeutic techniques to rehabilitate patients with functional limitations, impairments, and disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides, interprets, plans, and supervises patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with physician referrals.
  • Reviews and revises the plan of care as needed.
  • Prepares progress reports on all treatments and reports to physicians as necessary.
  • Instructs and counsels medical staff and family members to assist patients in treatment techniques.
  • Performs voice evaluations and treatments for various voice disorders and bedside swallow evaluations.
  • Demonstrates competency with MBS's for adults and pediatrics.
  • Follows Code Blue protocol and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals.

Requirements:

  • Masters, Doctorate, or SLP-D degree from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Registered in the State of Florida.
  • Possess license in the State of Florida and ASHA certification.
  • Hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
  • Hold Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Externship experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Experience working in a pediatric environment.

Physical Requirements:

Work is medium/frequent lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds without help of mechanical devices or other personnel. Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving patients or equipment into position for treatment. Reaching for, handling, feeling, and manipulation of equipment and patients. Talking and hearing to convey instruction and information to patients and staff members. Visual acuity to perceive reactions to treatment and to follow or read instruction.
