Job Overview

The Facilities Technician is tasked with executing routine, corrective, and maintenance activities across all properties managed by Treasure Coast Hospice, including thrift store locations.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience with foundational skills in painting, carpentry, electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing. Proficiency in basic HVAC maintenance and electrical troubleshooting is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to foster positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. A valid Florida driver's license and proof of automobile insurance are required. Regular attendance is mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled preventative and routine maintenance tasks on all properties, ensuring compliance with safety regulations as verified by inspections.
  • Ensure timely resolution of service requests for repairs and replacements, as tracked by facility work order data.
  • Facilitate the efficient movement and arrangement of office furniture, gauged by employee satisfaction.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, as indicated by employee incident reports.
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency, customer awareness, and commitment to service excellence.
  • Actively support the compliance program of Treasure Coast Hospice, emphasizing adherence to all relevant Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Contribute to the successful execution of the organization's strategic plan as assigned.

OSHA Classification

This position is classified as category II, which involves no routine exposure to blood or body fluids but may occasionally require performing unplanned category I tasks.

Working Environment

  • Medium work, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Climbing, including ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and other structures, emphasizing body agility.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as necessary to perform tasks.
  • Reaching, standing, and walking to complete job responsibilities, including moving between work sites.
  • Pushing and pulling objects as needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Lifting objects from lower to higher positions or moving them horizontally.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.

Additional Considerations

The incumbent may be required to perform emergency duties during or beyond regular work hours in response to emergencies or crises. The work environment is smoke-free, and adherence to all smoking restrictions is expected.
