Job Summary:

The Cashier is a vital member of the UF Health team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a cash register with accuracy and efficiency, handling cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to UF Health's standards for cleanliness and safety.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring high-quality presentation and service.
  • Assist with meal service, including setting up and cleaning the dining area, and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Perform cash handling duties, including counting and reconciling cash, and preparing bank deposits.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service and a positive customer experience.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with accuracy.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or food service role.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
