Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
Wellstar North Fulton Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Neuro-Acute Care MedSurg team on a PRN day shift basis.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. As a Registered Nurse, you will practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Clinical Practice:
- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring that care is individualized.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others (as appropriate) using appropriate methods for setting and purpose, making patients' goals the focus of the plan of care.
B. Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible and promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
C. Professional Development and Initiative:
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines) to ensure a current and future qualified workforce, modeling the professional practice of nursing and creating a healthy work environment.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in nursing or graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing required.
- Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred.
- All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
- Experience with direct patient care preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care, and hold basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills, along with customer service skills required.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner.
- Possess excellent time management skills and practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills, along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
