Responsibilities
  • Professional Development: Demonstrate accountability for professional growth and improvement of clinical practice and patient care. Participate in change initiatives and lead by example in building healthy relationships among colleagues and other disciplines.
  • Patient Care: Apply basic nursing knowledge and skills within the framework of Relationship Based Care. Use the nursing process to meet the clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Communicate effectively and demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, and spiritual issues within the episode of care.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage in clinical development and/or RN residency program for new hires. Seek opportunities to learn safe, accountable, and autonomous practice from more experienced nurses. Participate in unit-based journal clubs and demonstrate a basic knowledge of research and its impact on practice.
  • Quality and Innovation: Identify opportunities for improvement on the clinical area. Utilize nursing process in managing the care of residents, including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, and implementation, evaluation of resident care, teaching, and discharge planning. Provide basic psychosocial support and counseling.
  • Communication and Cultural Competence: Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Show awareness of cultural diversity, horizontal violence, and impairment in the health professions.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where the facility is located or a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
