Salary InformationThe estimated salary range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00 per hour, with an average of $21.50 per hour, based on 26 hours worked per week.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care facilities. The role involves providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
The NA is responsible for:
- Providing basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs;
- Assisting residents with meals and snacks, providing water and supplements as appropriate;
- Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathering vital signs;
- Providing housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational;
- Aiding providers and nursing staff members with procedures if needed;
- Documenting resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary;
- Communicating resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred;
- A minimum age of 16 years old;
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care, preferably;
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position;
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits for each year;
- Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications.
