Job Summary

The National Tax Technical Senior Manager is a key member of the National Tax team, playing a crucial role in achieving firm tax practice goals. This position is responsible for collaborating with tax leaders and team members to drive resolution of complex tax technical matters, develop internal and external working relationships, and provide coaching and development to people that support tax practice initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Drive resolution of complex tax technical matters that have high levels of uncertainty and risk
  • Collaborate with individuals at all levels within the firm to identify and develop opportunities and expand tools/resources for tax technical services
  • Lead technical tax research and communicate findings as appropriate
  • Manage projects and provide coaching and development to people that support tax practice initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to facilitate development and delivery of tax technical training
  • Evaluate implications of new tax law changes including regulatory and administrative guidance and provide recommendations to tax leadership as needed
  • Conduct technical research related to tax positions taken and communicate findings as appropriate
  • Participate in internal and external activities to attain visibility and recognition within a technical specialization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, emphasis in accounting or a related field preferred
  • Advanced degree in Taxation highly desired
  • Minimum of 7 years tax professional experience required
  • Experience in a public accounting or law firm, and/or experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferred
  • CPA or Bar License required
  • Experience coaching and managing a team including the technical development of tax professionals required
