Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Charge Nurse in the Medical Rehabilitation Unit at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including coaching, mentoring, and evaluating performance
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and unit activities
  • Participate in unit-based scorecard initiatives to drive quality and safety improvements
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or higher
  • Twenty-four months of clinical nursing experience with progressive leadership skills
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Texas
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional healthcare teams, and patients and their families
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing or higher
  • Experience in a leadership role in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of nursing unit's dashboard and hospital consumer assessment of healthcare providers and systems (HCAHPS) scores
