About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining radiation safety protocols, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborating with the Department Director of Radiology and Medical Physicist to ensure the safety of staff, patients, families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement radiation safety programs and procedures
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate radiation safety risks
  • Provide education and training to staff on radiation safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on radiation safety activities
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Certified Health Physicist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiation Therapist licensure
  • 3+ years of experience in radiation safety, including radioactive materials
  • Experience with I-131 therapy and unsealed radioactive materials
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety regulations and guidelines
