We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Mid Michigan Health, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automated Dispensing Machines:
    • Run reports and pull medications as needed to maintain accurate inventory levels.
    • Restock Automated Dispensing Machines to ensure timely access to medications, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
    • Investigate and resolve narcotic discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • IV and Medication Preparation:
    • Compound IV and piggyback medications using aseptic technique and universal precautions to ensure patient safety.
    • Comply with USP 797 guidelines to maintain the highest level of quality and safety in medication preparation.
  • Labeling and Filling:
    • Accurately run labels using the computer system to ensure timely and efficient medication dispensing.
    • Fills, reconciles, and exchanges 24-hour UD medicine carts using McKesson robot and Cerner, maintaining accurate records.
  • Repacking and Stocking:
    • Repackage non-unit dose medications correctly using PacMed and McKesson repackager, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
    • Replace and fill floor stock, including EMS boxes, crash cart trays, open heart meds, and Omnicell Anesthesia carts, maintaining a well-stocked and organized pharmacy environment.
Certifications and Licensures:
  • PHARM TECH - Pharmacy Technician Licensure
  • Required Equivalent Experience: Possess a full technician license or limited pharmacy license through the state of Michigan.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of annual exam for Aseptic Technique within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software required.
  • Excellent math skills, organizational skills, and ability to work under high pressure and time constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting preferred.
