Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist at King's Daughters, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment.



Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient orders and obtain patient clinical history prior to examination.
  • Perform examinations by analyzing patient information to select proper scanning protocols.
  • Edit scan protocols to ensure highest diagnostic value and position patients for optimal image capture.
  • Accommodate patient comfort and modesty while immobilizing patients as needed.
  • Recognize patient distress and take necessary action.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and provide hard copy records with proper patient identification.
  • Practice radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Administer contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
  • Perform diagnostic testing on equipment and report malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Assist in office throughput by performing other qualified functions such as rooming patients, collecting specimens, and drawing blood.


Requirements
  • Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited radiography program or equivalent.
  • Maintain active ARRT certification.
  • Maintain active Radiographer Operators Certificate in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or other applicable states.
  • Achieve and maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


Working Environment

Constantly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



Physical Demands

Occasionally required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting). Frequently required to walk and move about, operate a computer, and use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices. Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds and communicate with patients and other care team members.
