Position Overview

Western Technologies Inc. (WT) is a well-established consulting firm with a rich history of over 65 years, specializing in a variety of engineering services including geotechnical, environmental, construction materials engineering, and testing, as well as nondestructive testing and welding inspection across the southwestern United States.

We are currently seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Salt Lake City, UT office. The preferred candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform geotechnical assessments for various projects, including foundation design, pavement analysis, and slope stability evaluations.
  • Investigate ground and surface water conditions, soil types, and bedrock characteristics for effective land use and planning.
  • Conduct both field and laboratory tests, analyzing soil and rock properties, including strength and consolidation characteristics, as well as evaluating retaining wall designs.
  • Review engineering schematics, inspect construction sites, and gather soil samples for analysis.
  • Provide expert recommendations regarding foundation structures, soil bearing capacities, and slope stability considerations.
  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive geotechnical evaluation reports.
