LSI Staffing is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to join our team at a leading meat production facility in Canton, SD.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with machines and wants to be part of a dynamic production environment.

About the Role
  • We are looking for someone who can repair, maintain, and install machinery, tools, and equipment, as well as perform building maintenance and upkeep.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The selected candidate will also need to communicate clearly with production staff and quality control teams regarding equipment issues and breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance work requests from the production floor, supervisors, and quality control teams.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance to minimize plant downtime.
  • Work orders should be completed based on plant priority needs and GMP audit requirements.
  • Communicate equipment breakdowns and estimated repair times to production and quality assurance teams.
  • Identify potential problems through root cause analysis and implement long-term repair solutions.
  • Ensure timely responses to equipment failures or breakdowns, following through on all assigned work until completion.
  • Document parts for ordering and usage accordingly.
  • Comply with all safety and good manufacturing practices.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of environmental factors, including:

  • Wet and moist floors with metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Temperatures ranging from 28°F to 100°F with ambient and high humidity levels.
  • Handling products at temperatures between 25°F and 50°F.
  • Noise levels between 50 dB and 110 dB.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors (10 ppm) and chlorine (less than 20 ppm).

Requirements:

  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Lifting up to 30 pounds, reaching, bending, and pushing boxes on conveyor belts may be required.

The salary range for this position is $27 - $37 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time opportunity with opportunities for professional growth and development.
