About the Role:

Enercon is seeking an Electrical Engineer to coordinate with diverse disciplines, review designs, and manage projects with autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and possess the ability to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors.
  • Prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates.
  • Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
  • Prepare electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and evaluate technical bids and select equipment.
  • Devise new approaches to technical problems.
  • Travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up.
  • Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintain quality standards of all assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Electrical Engineering design.
  • Experience supporting modifications of Nuclear Power Plants preferred.
  • Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations is desired.
  • Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
  • Uranium enrichment facility experience, or equivalent nuclear facility experience, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements, particularly 10CFR70 is preferred.
  • Ensures plant designs contain adequate safety features based on best nuclear industrial facility practices and lessons learned.
  • The ability to lead and mentor an engineering team is highly desirable and preferred.
  • Ability to periodically travel to New Mexico is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE 'L' security clearance. A current DOE clearance is preferred.
