Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager, Operations to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electric distribution line knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing union employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Technical Support and Oversight: Provide technical support and oversight for electric line contractors to ensure compliance with all applicable safety rules, construction standards, and company contract and ethics policies.
  2. Fill in for Operations Manager: Fill in for the Operations Manager as needed to direct Line/Operations personnel in working safely and efficiently and keeping upper management informed of pertinent information.
  3. Contract Management: Provide high-level oversight over contracts for Vegetation Management and Fiber to ensure SCI policies are followed for bidding, RUS compliance, and ethics policy.
  4. Project Management: Manage assigned projects from project start to project closeout, ensuring that contract requirements are met and project schedules and budgets are adhered to.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Assist the electric and fiber division managers in the development of construction work plans and budgets, and communicate effectively with management employees, members, and others.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate level degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years' relevant electric utility experience in line construction and/or project management, with experience with a rural electric distribution system and RUS standards and contract requirements preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Leadership skills and experience managing union employees and maintaining positive morale are required.
  • Other Requirements: Class A Commercial Driver's License is preferred, and the ability to work effectively on a daily basis with a variety of individuals is essential.
