Comprehensive orientation and flexible scheduling options are available, including Day, Evening, and Night shifts, with 10 or 12-hour shifts to accommodate your lifestyle. A typical day for a Surgical Technician at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Preparing the operating room before surgical procedures
- Ensuring surgical supplies are adequately stocked
- Verifying the functionality of surgical machines and equipment
- Assisting in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical area as needed
- Handing instruments to surgeons during operations
- Supporting minor medical procedures
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must:
- Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Meet New Jersey's requirements under the Surgical Technologist law
- Possess a valid BLS certification
- Have 1-2 years of experience in a Cardiac Operating Room setting (preferred)
- Be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program and hold certification as a Surgical Technician
- Ideally, have at least 1 year of surgical scrub experience
- Possess national certification (preferred)
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Exhibit strong time management and prioritization skills
- Be capable of multitasking effectively
