Job Title: Correctional Custodial Maintenance Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Custodial Maintenance Instructor to join our team at Lake Land College. As a Correctional Custodial Maintenance Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching courses and labs in the Custodial Maintenance Certificate program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and revise course guides in collaboration with other instructors.
  • Teach classes assigned by the Associate Dean and approved by the Vice President, following course outlines approved by the College.
  • Prepare textbook recommendations and submit them to the Associate Dean.
  • Submit purchase order requests for instructional materials, books, and supplies to the Associate Dean for approval.
  • Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the Associate Dean.
  • Attend faculty meetings called by the administrative officers.
  • Work on-site for 37.5 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch break.
  • Arrive at work prior to the beginning of the established shift and at the classroom prior to the scheduled class time.
  • Serve on committees for the betterment of the College as established by the administration and faculty.
  • Assist in registration as needed.
  • Consider the general and special needs of students, assist them in meeting needs or solving problems, and seek additional help from other college services when necessary.
  • Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the College, and inform the President in writing of any problems that might have a detrimental effect on the College.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Notify the appropriate Administrator well in advance of absences.
  • Maintain inventory and control of flammable and caustic materials.
  • Maintain accurate control of tools and keys on assignment.
  • Prepare EGGC forms, task lists, and attendance reports as required.
  • Maintain hourly count checks on students.
  • Comply with Illinois Department of Corrections regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain equipment assigned to the area.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree preferred.
  • Teaching experience desired.
  • Custodial maintenance experience required.
