Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our Radiology Department at SUNY Upstate Medical University. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic outpatient setting, performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures and collaborating with our team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately read and interpret physicians' instructions to ensure high-quality patient care
• Position patients for x-ray exams according to departmental standard procedures, minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff
• Coordinate patient flow, review images for diagnostic and technical quality, and ensure equipment is functioning properly
• Perform quality assurance checks and follow departmental policies and procedures, including HIPAA and NYSDOH requirements
• Assist colleagues in the department and maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements:
• Associate's degree in Medical Radiography and current ARRT registration
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• May require additional certification depending on specialty
