Concern Housing is a renowned provider of innovative solutions in the human services sector. We are committed to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents, and we are seeking an experienced Overnight Counselor to join our team.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to work as an Overnight Counselor at our East Patchogue, NY location. As an Overnight Counselor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, as well as maintaining a secure environment throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the premises and respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies
- Provide counseling and support to residents as needed, and refer them to regular staff when necessary
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Conduct weekly medication counts and verify accuracy
- Perform hourly walk-thrus of the site during your shift
- Unlock kitchen and prepare breakfast for residents
- Participate in morning medication monitoring and ensure prompt wake-up calls for early risers
- Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in required trainings, including Relias Learning
- Remain up-to-date with all Agency compliance documents and training requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least two years of experience in a similar position. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with your ability to work effectively under pressure, make you an ideal candidate for this role.
