Job Title: Lead Architect

About the Role:

As a Lead Architect at Barclays, you will play a critical role in developing and evolving the bank's technology architecture. You will work closely with stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and share knowledge to foster continuous improvement. Your goal will be to align business and technology strategy and standards, identifying opportunities and connecting people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement technology architecture and strategies aligned to business and technology objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and share knowledge.
  • Motivate and lead a diverse collection of technologists, business, and operations teams and enterprise leaders.
  • Assess new technologies to address current and future business needs.
  • Determine optimal solutions while balancing continuous requirements imposed by compliance, governance, security, and funding.
  • Monitor and analyze performance, resiliency, and stability of applications.
  • Comply with applicable regulatory standards and identify industry developments that may impact the bank's operations and controls.
  • Support engineering and architecture community initiatives to mentor team members, streamline operations, share, and grow knowledge.

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Lead Architect in Whippany, New Jersey (multiple positions):

  • Provide architectural oversight and governance of the front to back and connected architectural landscape for the Equities Middle Office and Prime Departments within the Market PreTrade Transaction Cycle.
  • Review the architecture of major programs within Equities Middle Office and Prime to ensure adherence to Barclays' technology and data principles, policies, and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to Equities Middle Office and Prime, and to an assigned technical domain, to help resolve technical blockers and assist with product selection.
  • Take appropriate advantage of cloud capabilities and economics.
  • Contribute to an assigned technology domain to further Barclays' technology strategy.
  • Ensure that any CTO technology strategy papers address the needs and challenges of Barclays Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB).
