Job Summary

The Transportation Specialist is responsible for driving a company-provided vehicle to transport staff in a timely and safe manner on a planned or scheduled basis, while maintaining accurate records of trips and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport staff between designated locations, adhering to strict time schedules and maintaining a safe and courteous driving record.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure all safety equipment and features are in working order, and report any malfunctions or needed repairs to the management team.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, including employee initials and any issues encountered during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with the management team regarding any delays, accidents, or other transportation-related issues.
  • Transport employees to and from the airport at the beginning and end of the season.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles, including vacuuming and cleaning the interior, washing the exterior, and removing any trash.
  • Park vehicles in designated and safe parking spaces.
Requirements
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Completion of a driver's safety course on a regular basis.
Job Knowledge and Competencies
  1. Knowledge and compliance with traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations to operate vehicles safely and courteously.
  2. Ability to recognize potentially hazardous traffic situations.
  3. Required to be alert and rested when driving vehicles.
  4. Ability to exercise mature judgment in emergencies.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Meet the minimum hearing and vision requirements, including 20/30 (or better) corrected vision and passing a hearing test with less than or equal to 40 decibels in each ear.
  • Drive up to 8 hours a day and sit up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, and squat.
  • Physical resolve to drive in typical climate conditions and temperatures.
