Job Summary

The Plumber I position at R.T. Moore is a critical role in learning the plumbing trade and improving quality and speed over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn the necessary aspects of drain, waste, vent (DWV), water systems, and other plumbing-related topics.
  • Accurately build and install complete plumbing systems, showcasing a clear understanding of all types of plumbing fittings.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality of work standards.
  • Manage materials needed for various projects.
  • Accumulate knowledge of basic tools required for plumbing work and apply that knowledge within thirty days.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Follow directions and processes given by site leadership.
  • Motivated to learn the plumbing trade.
  • Maintain compliance with state trade licensing programs.
  • Build knowledge of Plumbing Code.
  • Adhere to work schedule.
Critical Skills & Knowledge
  • Motivated work ethic.
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical ability.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and documents.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve independently.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Obtain apprentice licensing in appropriate states.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Loud noises, working near mechanical and moving parts, working at various heights, and small, awkward, confining workspaces.
  • Inhalation of fumes and airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibrations.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, see, talk, and hear.
  • Must be able to climb or balance regularly.
  • Near constant lifting or carrying of items of various weights.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Wear job site-specific personal protective equipment.
  • Possible travel to out-of-town/out-of-state projects.
