This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers a reimbursement program for student loan payments. Applicants must fulfill specific eligibility criteria as per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of their appointment.

Essential Requirements:
  1. Citizenship: Only U.S. citizens may be appointed unless there are no qualified citizens available as per VA Policy.
  2. Certification: All candidates must hold certification in general radiologic technology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced ARRT certification is mandatory for roles involving computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or Mammography (M) performed independently.
  3. Educational Background: Completion of a full-time training program lasting at least 24 months in diagnostic radiologic technology, validated by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  4. Physical Abilities: Candidates must meet the physical requirements specified.
  5. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English is required as mandated by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
Minimum Experience:

A minimum of one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-8), directly related to the position, demonstrating the clinical competencies required at that level.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. At least four years of credible experience as a general radiographer.
  2. A minimum of two years of credible experience in the MRI advanced certification area.
  3. Experience with Siemens MRI systems is highly desirable.
Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
