About the Job

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, and ability to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends. You must also meet local standards pertaining to qualifications, training, and eligibility for hiring placement or promotion.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fire safety inspections, provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, and participate in public education standbys.
  • Perform fire suppression duties by responding to emergency fire alarms, operating various pieces of fire equipment and gear, and driving and operating fire apparatus.
  • Provide emergency and non-emergency medical procedures both on scene and in a moving vehicle, transfer patients to medical facilities, and treat patients in accordance with established Emergency Medical Service Protocols and Rural/Metro Fire Department policy.
