Job Title: QC Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled QC Laboratory Technician to join our team at Pyramid Consulting, Inc. in Sparta, TN. This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and prioritizing workload, independently performing routine and non-routine work, and supporting the QC laboratory in testing all samples. They will also be responsible for coordinating and testing raw materials and finished products, communicating work schedules to management, and ensuring work instructions are aligned with overall company test methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and prioritize workload to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Independently perform routine and non-routine work, including testing all samples, as required.
  • Coordinate and test raw materials and finished products on a daily basis, based on backlogs, customer shipment schedules, and/or as directed by management.
  • Communicate work schedules to management, including weekend work, to ensure QC testing does not become excessively backlogged.
  • As a result of backlogged samples, be able to work occasional overtime.
  • Ensure work instructions are aligned with overall company test methods and revise or develop laboratory standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Responsible for the inspection and preventative maintenance of all laboratory equipment.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of test methods, processes, and laboratory equipment for raw material, liquid, and finished products.
  • Quality Information database system: record test data in a timely manner to enable real-time SPC charting and analysis.
  • Review SPC data/charts, identifying unusual trends, and assist in corrective action.
  • Notify management of unusual trends and ensure open communication regarding SPC trends with other QC laboratory personnel.
