Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at NATIVE HEALTH. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary patient care, including prevention, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and follow-up services to patients under your care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic, preventive, and/or therapeutic services to patients.
  • Document all patient-provider interactions following healthcare standards.
  • Participate as an active member of an integrated patient-centered team.
  • Provide oversight of Physician Assistants.
  • Support the organization as needed.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited medical school, internship, and completion of the certification examination by the medical board of examiners.
  • Must have a permanent and unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in Arizona.
  • Must have current board certification in family practice and maintain certification.
  • Must have current medication dispensing license (DEA).
  • Experience and training must have been progressive and responsible, demonstrating good knowledge of current principles, practices, methods, and techniques in the field of medicine.
  • Three years of experience in an outpatient family practice or comparable setting is preferred. Experience in a community health center setting is preferred.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Current ACLS certification is preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver's license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH's liability auto policy.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment and retain a valid card while employed with NATIVE HEALTH.
  • Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
  • Must provide an updated immunization (IZ) record at the time of employment.
  • Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an annual update.
  • Must obtain a First Aid/CPR Card within (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid CPR Card during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of current evidence-based family medicine guidelines.
  • Skills in providing diagnostic, preventive, and/or therapeutic services to patients.
  • Knowledge of public health, community health, and population health.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff members who have a variety of backgrounds and training.
  • Ability to accomplish the quality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time.
  • Ability to plan own work and carry out assignments effectively.
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work.
  • Proficient with computer-based applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain patient medical records and utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and associated technologies in said maintenance.
  • Ability to establish rapport and gain the confidence of others.
  • Ability to function as a healthcare delivery team member.
  • Ability to assess quality patient care.
  • Ability to provide cross-coverage at NATIVE HEALTH clinic locations as needed.
  • Must be able to work with confidential material without betraying the trust of patients, families, or the agency.
  • Knowledge of the cultural and social backgrounds of the Native American and under or uninsured population.
  • Demonstrate adherence to principles of confidentiality, scientific/academic integrity, informed consent, and ethical practice.
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload.
