Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse - Wound Ostomy, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence needs. You will demonstrate clinical expertise through the integration of advanced skills, knowledge, and competencies in a self-governing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, delegate, and supervise ongoing professional nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Support families and caregivers' educational, physical, and emotional needs across the continuum of care to reduce unanticipated and unexpected outcomes.
  • Provide for staff development and education to all levels of healthcare providers, including outside nursing education programs.
  • Use research to transform practice and facilitate change within the organization to enhance quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Conduct surveillance for hospital-acquired pressure ulcers and facilitate interventions to reduce nosocomial ulcer development and generate positive patient outcomes.
  • Uphold professional standards of nursing practice as determined by the NCBON and the WOCN Society.
Requirements
  • Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON
  • Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider
  • Certification: WOCN National Certification within two years of accepting position
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years in an acute care setting.
