At Universal Industries, we are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team. As an Assembler, you will play a critical role in assembling products called out on shop orders and/or at the direction of a supervisor or lead person working at bench or on shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble products according to shop orders and/or supervisor/lead person instructions
- Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean work area
- Meet or exceed performance metrics and have an understanding of manufacturing standards
- Complete scheduled work and tasks within time allotted or notify supervisor/lead person if unable to do so
- Inspect all individual work pieces and assemblies for quality
- Report defects to supervisor and participate in required OSHA training and other safety training
- Follow established procedures for accurate inventory control and double-check orders to ensure all items are included in shipments
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, written work instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
