Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Superintendent Gas Technician to join our team at Northwestern Energy. As a key member of our Distribution Operations department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional gas services to our customers in rural areas of South Dakota.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gas Service Delivery: Provide overall gas services in your designated area, including troubleshooting gas outages and local gas distribution or transmission problems.
  • Customer Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, interact with the public, and help resolve customer-billing issues.
  • Project Management: Plan and execute projects, direct crews, and participate as a team member to complete work in your area.
  • Emergency Response: Assume a leadership role in response to emergency situations, including on-call availability for evening and weekend shifts.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment, install pipe, and perform gas meter-related service work as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all actions are consistent with Northwestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives, and adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Natural gas experience required, with a strong background in gas distribution and transmission.
  • Certifications: Must meet occupational qualification standards, including recognition and reaction to abnormal operating conditions as specified in Title 49 CFR, Part 192.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and manipulate equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, with a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
