About this Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager/IT to lead our engineering team in Los Angeles, CA. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing design efforts, client interactions, and project management for our growing engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong book of business, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to supervise projects from inception through completion.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute effective designs that meet client expectations.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison and manage plan processing at public agencies.
  • Lead marketing, business development, and the pursuit of new work. (A successful book of business is essential.)
  • Oversee administrative and financial tasks, including invoicing, budget monitoring, proposals, and change orders.
  • Supervise the design team's workflow in collaboration with the Sr. Project Manager, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Maintain direct contact with agencies to ensure plan approvals, resolve design issues, and comply with agency requirements.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and internal departments across various project stages.
  • Perform site visits during construction to verify plan conformity and address discrepancies.
  • Manage project budgets, track billing, and handle change orders.
  • Promote innovative ideas and processes, emphasizing Full Circle Thinking.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients and agencies.
  • Mentor and train staff, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure timely submission of timecards and project charges.
  • Provide workload forecasts and communicate resource needs to the Sr. Project Manager.

Competitive Compensation: $145,000 - $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field, with 10 years of civil engineering design experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as the central design figure for a team, including experience in mentoring and workflow oversight.
  • EIT certification is required, with a goal of obtaining PE licensure within two years.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is desired.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage projects from initiation to completion.
