Job Summary

You will serve as a Painter Leader in the Lifting and Handling Department (C/700) at PSNS and IMF. This position is responsible for ensuring that work permits, system tag outs, work instructions, drawings, materials, and special tooling are available on the job site when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure that the latest work processes and procedures are followed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of work in progress and audits completed for work compliance with appropriate work procedures.
  • Determine progress and status of work.
  • Estimate completion of work and inform immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
  • Coordinate the work of co-workers and assist trades to assure that event schedules are met.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.

Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).
