As a key member of our team, you will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach their maximum performance level and use skills learned to function in their community within their capabilities.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist with Circle of Care, you will be responsible for:

  • Administering and writing evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
  • Maintaining timely and accurate patient records and reports.
  • Designing and administering treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
  • Using therapeutic exercises and activities to improve or maintain strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination.
  • Instructing patients in adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for meal preparation, home management, dressing, feeding, and other self-care skills.
  • Providing prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instructing patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits; instructing patients' families in personal care for patients, especially proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain.
  • Designing home programs and instructing patients or families in carrying out such programs.
  • Participating in patient support groups with other team members.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational agility.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience

We require:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Master's degree in occupational therapy.
  • Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as an OTR.

Preferred qualifications include one year of experience.

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Will engage in movements that involve lifting equipment used in patient care, etc.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases and human waste products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.
