About the Role:

The Preschool Teacher Assistant will work collaboratively with the Preschool Lead Teacher to plan and implement engaging learning experiences for young children. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about early childhood education and is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and preparing lesson plans, materials, and activities that align with the YMCA's curriculum and goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that is safe and inviting for children.
  • Provide direct supervision and care for children during all activities, including indoor and outdoor play.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in assessing children's progress and making referrals to parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to prepare for parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • CDA program or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry children and materials up to 50 pounds.
