Job Description and Duties

Metropolitan State Hospital is a leading healthcare institution located in the city of Norwalk.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Technician Instructor to join our team. As a Psychiatric Technician Instructor, you will provide training and supervision to Psychiatric Technician Assistants and Students in a training course designed to prepare them as Psychiatric Technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Train all disciplines in Therapeutic Strategies and Interventions (TSI)
  • Conduct non-medical/surgical nursing classes
  • Provide hospital orientation for affiliated schools and colleges
  • Conduct CPR classes
  • Conduct emergency drills on the patient care units
Requirements

Candidates must meet the Minimum Qualifications as specified by CalHR:

  • Permanent civil service status
  • Reachability on an employment list
  • Transfer eligibility
  • Reinstatement eligibility
