PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Deliver educational instruction aimed at equipping participants with the skills necessary for success in various aspects of life, including employment and education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasked with providing effective English language education tailored to the diverse needs of adult learners. This encompasses the development of skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, alongside essential work skills, life skills, and civic knowledge.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Establishing a supportive and secure learning environment.
- Delivering impactful instruction that facilitates the completion of ESL programs.
- Utilizing diverse teaching methodologies to convey subject matter aligned with the learning objectives of adult students.
- Enhancing communication and critical thinking abilities through targeted activities and assignments.
- Creating and implementing assessment methods to evaluate student progress towards educational goals.
- Incorporating available educational technology to enrich the learning experience.
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities relevant to adult education.
- Staying informed on current literature and research pertinent to the field of Adult Education.
- Collaborating with a team to support student success in courses essential for transitioning to vocational or academic pathways.
- Working alongside case managers to identify and address barriers to student progress.
- Administering assessments in accordance with established guidelines.
- Monitoring student attendance and performance, implementing strategies to enhance student engagement.
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completing and submitting necessary lesson plans and administrative documentation.
- Attending all designated staff meetings.
- Occasional travel for mandatory meetings as required.
- Collaborating effectively with all program staff.
- Engaging in professional development activities.
- Filling out required forms, including timesheets and material requests.
- Performing other assigned duties as necessary.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and proficient written and verbal abilities.
- Critical thinking skills to identify solutions and resolve issues.
- Judgment and decision-making capabilities to evaluate options and select the most suitable course of action.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience in Adult Education, particularly with diverse, at-risk, and multicultural populations.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Part-time position.
